The cover is highly resistant to abrasion, tears, and impacts, so that it will stand up to heavy use, as well as weather resistant, so that it performs consistently in various temperatures and is waterproof. It also has improved touch and control for players due to the combination of thermoplastic polyurethane with a foam layer, and it’s both eco-friendly (thermoplastic polyurethane is not only recyclable, but its also free from harmful toxins like BPA and is biodegradable over time) and cost-effective. Some of the trade offs with this soccer ball versus a higher-end soccer ball is that its stitching is less durable and it’s got a lower-end feel to it. For a soft feel without sacrificing weight, this soccer ball features a soft, flexible, and lightweight ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) backing that provides cushioning, shock absorption, and water resistance. It features an butyl bladder for added air retention as well. With its 32 panel construction, its 20 hexagonal and 12 pentagonal panels will create a more spherical shape, which helps improve players’ control, accuracy, and flight stability due to allowing air to flow more consistently over the ball, which results in more predictable flight paths and reduced drag.
